Examining the under-representation of young black men studying law.
Considering the disproportionate impact of the criminal justice system upon African Caribbean men, why are so few of our young men going to university to study law? As a community we must come together to address these difficult questions.
Widening participation, what does it mean? How will it deliver? What is legal consciousness?
Event chaired by Dr Dawn Edge. You will hear from representatives of The University of Manchester along with Professor Gus John, Tottenham justice campaigner Stafford Scott, barrister Tunde Okewale, representatives from student organisations and most importantly parents and local community organisations.
