The UK Data Service is holding an hour-long webinar on the topic of food and food security.
This is a collaborative webinar involving Rebecca O’Connell, Senior Research Officer at the Thomas Coram Research Unit, University College London.
The webinar will showcase data and resources related to food and food security that are available from the UK Data Service and will highlight the research potential of the data.
Rebecca O’Connell will give an overview of a recent mixed methods research project that used the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) for a study of Food, Families and Work (published as a book by Bloomsbury in April 2016).
She will discuss:
- Using the NDNS as a sampling frame to draw a purposive qualitative sample
- Secondary analysis of the NDNS and bringing together the data from different methods
- The linked qualitative material that is also archived with the UK Data Service
The webinar will consist of a 40 minute presentation followed by 20 minutes for questions.
