Manchester Literature Festival and the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester are thrilled to present a conversation with the novelist and prize-winning indie film director Xiaolu Guo.
Writing in both English and Chinese, she has published seven works of poignant and witty fiction, including A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers (shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction),UFO in Her Eyes, and Lovers in the Age of Indifference. An extract from her forthcoming novel I Am China was featured in Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists 4.
You can also see a screening of the film adaptation of UFO in Her Eyes at Cornerhouse on Sunday 13th October at 4pm, with the author/director in conversation for a second time.
