We welcome two virtuoso performers from Cyprus and Iran to the Martin Harris Centre.
A oud player and teacher, giving workshops and concerts around the world, while also researching Modal Music of the Eastern Mediterranean, Giannis Koutis has participated in music events, seminars and music festivals worldwide. Reza Mirjalali started music at the age of seven, with his father teaching him tombak and tar He gave his first concerts at the age of 14 and is now performing worldwide and has several collaborations with ensembles of different music genres such as Persian traditional music, Ottoman music, jazz and pop. He also plays as a duo with his father.
The Thursday lunchtime concerts are part of the Walter Carroll Lunchtime Concert Series, which is supported by the Ida Carroll Trust. They provide a wide-ranging programme to suit all tastes and are an ideal opportunity to enjoy great music performed by outstanding musicians. There’s no need to book – the concerts are free, and you can just turn up on the day!
