Comprehensive reporting structures are vital for ensuring the success of development projects. However, powerful funders often create and oversee these structures, leaving local actors with little say over how projects are evaluated. Development practitioners often promote collaboration with local communities and organisations as part of well-intentioned decolonisation agendas. However, such goals are often hindered or limited by terms and conditions set out in reporting and evaluation frameworks.
What does this mean for leadership and management of development organisations? What skills do we need to challenge such power dynamics? How should we adapt our leadership approaches to ensure we lend integrity and authenticity to our social justice efforts? What are some practical considerations surrounding the implementation of monitoring processes?
Join us for the Community of Practice as we share experiences and learn from one another.
