Why do some emergency plans succeed while others struggle when tested?
Planning is central to preparing for disruptions, yet traditional approaches often narrowly focus on compliance, templates, and prescriptive processes.
Societal pressures and needs shape how planning actually happens during a disruption and should be better integrated into our thinking and practice to improve planning effectiveness.
This webinar will introduce the Competing Pressures Paradigm, a model designed to help resilience practitioners identify, understand, and proactively manage the competing pressures that influence planning effectiveness. We will explore how the model can:
- Deepen understanding of the societal aspects of planning for disruptions
- Inform training and practice by recognising and navigating competing pressures
- Strengthen preparedness by improving planning efficacy and outcomes
Join our speaker, Tony McAleavy, who will draw on his experience as a practitioner and academic to explore a new perspective on preparing for disruptions that can make emergency planning more effective.
