Part of: The Complete Works: Year 1 – Hope & Resistance

Editor, critic & broadcaster Ellah Wakatama Allfrey OBE curates and presents this brand-new series of in-depth interviews at HOME, in partnership with the University of Manchester, with a line-up of some of the most exciting contemporary writers whose work embodies and has strong resonance with the powerful theme of Hope & Resistance.

To mark the arrival of Red Dust Road on HOME's Theatre 1 stage, poet, novelist, National Poet of Scotland and HOME Patron Jackie Kay will join us for a special Sunday afternoon event to discuss her soul-searching memoir.

This intimate event will give you the chance to get to know Jackie, from her early days in Scotland, through her illustrious career that has seen her awarded an MBE, become a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and the National Poet for Scotland, to the debut stage adaptation of her memoir, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

The event will be followed by a book signing.
