On 6th May 2017 the Confucius Institute at The University of Manchester will host the annual Dragon Boat race amongst North West Universities at Helly Hansen Watersport Centre, Salford Quays.
6 teams will once again compete for the top spot, drawn from university staff, students and friends of the Confucius Institutes. Other competing universities include Lancaster University, Edge Hill University, Liverpool University and UCLAN.
Requirements to take part are the ability to swim 50 metres and obviously plenty of team spirit! If you haven’t done this sort of thing before, don’t worry you will learn everything you need to know during the training session and on the day.
Why not take this opportunity to take part in something different and get to know a really fun and exciting Chinese tradition. If you are interested in being part of the Manchester team please email confucius@manchester.ac.uk by 31st March!
