The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute is hosting ‘Aid, Conflict and Peace: collaborative research symposium’. This multidisciplinary conference will bring together researchers and students from across the University with a shared interest in issues such as humanitarianism, conflict response and development, and in doing so will provide an opportunity for students and researchers alike to share their skills, knowledge and research projects.

We invite undergraduate, masters and PhD students, researchers and alumni to submit 300 word abstracts. We would like to encourage studies which shed on the symposiums core themes including, but not limited to:

  • Displacement and migration
  • Global health innovations
  • Research methodologies
  • Peacebuilding and post-conflict societies
  • Human rights and transitional justice
  • Organisational culture and aid financing
  • Histories of aid and conflict
  • The role of the arts in peace and conflict

Abstracts which do not fit the above categories are welcome. Selected authors will be invited to give short oral or poster presentations and prizes for the best will be awarded on the day.

Please send all abstracts to hcrisymposium@gmail.com by 10 March 2017.

This student-led symposium will present innovative research from multiple perspectives and provide a fantastic opportunity for both emerging and established academics to showcase their ideas and build multidisciplinary networks.
