This informal workshop in association with DH@Manchester, is aimed at scholars interested in using digital humanities methods for historical research, focusing especially on text mining. The workshop is hosted by Drs Elizabeth Toon and Carsten Timmermann of the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, who collaborated with the National Centre for Text Mining on the development of a special text mining search tool for historians of medicine. We are pleased to welcome Professor Tom Ewing (Virginia Tech, ethomasewing.org), whose work uses Digital Humanities tools to understand the circulation of knowledge during nineteenth- and twentieth-century epidemics.
Attendance is free but please let us know that you are coming by emailing carsten.timmermann@manchester.ac.uk
