With more researchers working remotely, many are asking: “Is it possible to access safeguarded Special Licence or Secure Access data from home?". Whether you are already accessing such data at your institution, or you are just preparing an application, you may be wondering if homeworking is an option for your project.

This free online session will help you identify:

  • What makes a project eligible for homeworking access.
  • How to check if your project is eligible.
  • How to apply for homeworking access.
  • Which requirements you need to meet to apply for homeworking access.
  • Which steps are involved in the homeworking application process.

Presenters: Anna Woodfield, Dominico Rivera, UK Data Service

Anna is a Data Access and Use Assistant within the Access team at the UK Data Service. Although she is not from a data background, she really enjoying working in a data environment, helping researchers to access the quality data we hold within our catalogue.

Dominico is a Data Access and Use Assistant within the Access team at the UK Data Service. He supports researchers in registering on the UKDS platform, providing user support to help apply for and access the data they need for their research. In addition, Dominico advises applicants on best practices in data protection and acts as a key point of contact between users and data depositors, particularly for Special Licence applications.

Target audience: Current UK Data Service users with access to Special Licence or Secure Access data who are interested in learning more about potential homeworking access. Prospective and existing users of the UK Data Service who are considering applying, or are currently applying, for access to Special Licence or Secure Access data.

This event will be livestreamed on our UK Data Service YouTube channel but the chat will be disabled. By registering and attending the Zoom event you will be able to ask questions and interact.

Recordings of UK Data Service events are made available on our YouTube channel and, together with the slides, on our past events pages soon after the event has taken place.
