The Discover Law Day will give students the opportunity to find out more about studying law at Manchester, as well as providing information on the variety of career choices available to law graduates.
Law is a fascinating degree leading to a career as a solicitor or a barrister, but also in other professions including business management, social and public services including the police, careers in the charitable sector or international organisations.
Discover Law Day will provide information about what Law students study, the methods of teaching and other opportunities provided by the School of Law, including our Legal Advice Centres where Manchester students give advice to members of the public about their legal problems.
You will also find out about mooting, where students conduct mock legal argument and advocacy in competition, and Streetlaw which provides students with the experience of explaining complex legal issues to the public.
Students will gain insight into how a Law degree will develop research skills, communication skills and planning and time management skills leading to a successful career.
On the Discover Law Day, students will experience talks, workshops and a taster lecture from academics working on Law to see what it is really like to be a Law student. You can ask any questions about Law and university life, with the chance to speak to our staff and current students, explore the campus and see the Law School’s facilities, including the Moot Courtroom.
