The continuous growth of big data in biomedical and health sector has presented a big methodological challenge both health and computing sciences due to the high volume, heterogeneity and variability of the data.
The use of data-intensive informatics in medicine is in its infancy.
In this seminar, we will talk about the issues of machine learning when facing such high dimensional data, such as the curse of dimensionality, then present a predictive analytics methodology driven by deep learning network to extract useful clinical information from primary care electronic health records that can robustly predict the hospitalisation of dementia patients.
