Manchester University’s period-instrument Baroque orchestra presents Italianate music by European composers active in the concert rooms of 18th-century London. Alongside familiar masterworks by Handel, the programme includes rarely heard music by Geminiani for the pantomime La forêt enchantée, and a concerto grosso by the Dutch-born composer Pieter Hellendaal, who moved to London in 1751.
