Facilitator: Prof Rachel Cowen, FBMH Academic Development Lead

Target Audience: All Clinical Academics at University of Manchester eligible for National Clinical Impact Awards (NCIAs)

Workshop Overview: This workshop aims to raise the visibility of the NCIAs, to provide history and context to the awards, and encourage and support diverse clinical academics to apply. You will gain insights into the process, timeline to apply and review criteria. Through peer discussion you will reflect on your clinical academic achievements and impact and consider how best to showcase this as evidence against the 5 NCIA Domains (Service delivery and development; Leadership; Education, training and people development; Innovation and research; Additional national impact). You will also hear the experiences of clinical academics who have recently been successful.

NCIA awards are open for application on 1 April 2025 and will close at 5pm on 27 May 2025

Eligibility criteria: Fully registered medical or dental practitioner on the General Dental Council (GDC) specialist list; General Medical Council (GMC) specialist list or GP register. You need to be fully registered with a licence to practise AND have been, and continue to be, a permanent NHS consultant or academic GP in a permanent clinical academic role in higher education at the same level as a senior lecturer or above (You must have met both of these conditions for at least one year, on 1 April in the award year in which you are applying)
