We are excited to announce our upcoming in-person International Women’s Day event on the 7th March 2024; taking place from 1.15 pm to 3.30 pm at Theatre A and the Drum Foyer, University Place.

The theme for this year's event is 'Inspire Inclusivity' and we invite you to join us for an afternoon of celebration.?

Women@Manchester is a staff network for all women, or those who identify as female at the University of Manchester.

Our annual International Women's Day celebration will feature a panel conversations with: Faye Coleman, Co-Lead and Allyship Officer of GM4Women, Laura Winter, EDI Lead of the UOM Humanities School of Environment, Education and Development, Professor Rachel Cowen, University EDI Lead for Gender Equity and Senior Sponsor of Women@Manchester Lee Chambers, Gender Equity Advocate and Male Ally. Co-Chairs, Lin Ma and Emma Shiels

The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is ‘inspire inclusivity’. Gender equity has historically been considered as a ‘women’s issue’, as women are the primary driver behind gender equality strategies and campaigns. However, we believe that forging gender equity shouldn’t be limited to women solely fighting for equity. Allies are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural, and political advancement of women. As an inclusive network – open to all women and nonbinary people, we want to ensure that our message is as effective as possible and reaches the whole University. We want to build bridges through intersectionality by acknowledging the work we need to do to inspire inclusivity and diversity
