Eternal light features a brand new, sensational and elegiac score by Howard Goodall, one of Britain's most popular composers. This uplifting score, Eternal Light: A Requiem, was specially commissioned for Rambert Dance Company by Mark Stephenson on behalf of London Musici, and will be sung live at The Lowry by Ad Solem, with solos performed by Elizabeth Atherton and Adrian Powter. Sumptuous designs from Production Designer Michael Howells feature sparkling crystals donated by Swarovski, and a striking headdress design from fashion milliner Stephen Jones. Eternal Light is a heartfelt remembrance of many things: a lost summer's day, the destruction of the forests, a life looking back, a memory. Happiness and sadness are personified in a dying bird or a reflection on youth - what has been and is now gone, held in our hearts forever. Eternal Light is Mark Baldwin's second major work for the Company since becoming Artistic Director in 2002. the piece will be accompanied at The Lowry by Christopher Bruce's classic and ever-popular Swansong Canadian choreographer André Gingras's Anatomics #3. Free post-performance talk also included. Find out more about Rambert and the works being performed immediately after the show. Free to performance ticketholders.
