Unfolding Stories: sketching workshops
As part of our exhibition Unfolding Stories: Sketching the Everyday, Lynne Chapman is leading two sketching workshops for adults and children aged 9 and up.
Lynne is a book illustrator and ‘urban sketcher’. Urban sketching is a technique where you draw the world around you, in real time – no working from photographs.
Lynne will introduce lots of fun techniques to add confidence, impact and colour to your sketches. And we will use the exhibition around us for inspiration.
You do NOT have to be ‘good at drawing’ to enjoy this workshop. We will be experimenting with lots of quick, creative techniques – there won’t be time to paint the perfect still life!
Artistic experience (and skill) are not needed, but you will need to bring your imagination and a keen interest in the world around you. If this sounds like you, then you should enjoy the workshop.By the end of the workshop you will be ready to try out urban sketching yourself!
All materials provided.
The workshops are free, but you do need to book a place (see the link to the Z-Arts website on this page, or go to www.z-arts.org)
