Hope represents a vital resource in a development landscape affected by rising geopolitical tensions, funding problems, employee burnout, climate crisis, and other interconnected challenges.
But how can we harness hope to help us make genuine progress in our endeavours? How can we keep hope alive under difficult circumstances? And how can we prevent our hope from turning into toxic and counterproductive over-optimism?
This session represents the third in a series of online communities of practice (CoPs) where practitioners can share concerns, ideas, feelings, and advice about building and maintaining resilience. We welcome people from all backgrounds and parts of the world to join in this complex and fascinating discussion.
In the last session, we discussed toxicity within development organisations, a summary of which you can read on the GDI blog: https://blog.gdi.manchester.ac.uk/what-does-it-take-to-turn-toxic-organisations-into-thriving-organisations/
All are welcome to join the next session, whether or not you’ve joined a previous session. Do spread the word!
