Online workshops: Social data and the third sector: evidence, skills and tools
Does your charity or project struggle to find the data to demonstrate needs in your community or show the impact of your work? When you find the data do you have the skills to analyse them?
In July, the UK Data Service is running a series of three introductory online workshops aimed at supporting organisations in the third sector to access and use quantitative data relevant to their services and projects’ needs. All three workshops will be free to attend.
Workshop 1. Evidence and impact using census data
Exploring local area statistics using census data. Topics will include:
What is aggregate data?
Exploring the 2011 Census
Finding local area statistics online
The workshop will include a mix of presentations, exercises and follow-up discussion. Participants will be given worksheets and use InFuse (free online tool) and Excel to explore local area statistics.
