This paper reflects on Dr Sahra Taylor's recent experience redesigning the module Introduction to Political Theory. She draws on the 'art of teaching' approaches to the structure, theme, and style to the reconstruction of a 1st year introduction module. It also considers the wider argument of what it means to teach in a decolonial way, and argues for a multiplicity of approaches that are necessarily fragmentary, polyvocal, and contradictory, and thus 'structurally' accommodating of multiplicity and plurality. Finally, it reflects on the political, social, and educational ramifications of the modular university degree structure, founded on the 'science of pedagogy', and its close relationship to colonial norms.
