This talk discusses the work done to boost UK-US collaboration in the fields of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and High-Performance Computing (HPC). The rationale for improving our links with US government, academia and industry is presented, with specific examples of initiatives in the field of turbulence modeling and HPC.
Outcomes from some of these initiatives is discussed (such as the UK-US HPC programme led by Dr Lee Margetts of the School of MACE) as well as various workshops which were organized by the presenter and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office during his 4 week stay at NASA Ames Research Centre in Silicon Valley.
