A Making a Difference Event
Dr Louise Cooke will host a brief presentation followed by a Q&A and we will discuss next
steps as to ‘Manchester Community Sharewear'
Clothing deprivation is a growing yet largely invisible issue. At the same time as
people throughout the UK are deprived of suitable clothing, a great deal of clothing is
prematurely destroyed or disposed of. Following a successful screening of the film
‘clothing Poverty Exposed’, in this Public Meeting Sharewear – the UK’s largest
provider of free clothing to the clothing deprived – will discuss what we can do both
here at the University of Manchester and in the broader Manchester community to
address clothing deprivation locally.
