Join us at The John Rylands Library for a special collections encounter exploring material from the archive of Pete Shelley, frontman of the influential Manchester punk band Buzzcocks.
Drop into the Reading Room for a unique opportunity to explore Shelley’s creative life through photographs, personal belongings and ephemera. Visitors will have the chance to get up close with special collections and discover the lasting impact of punk and LGBTQ+ histories that are often overlooked or underrepresented.
The British Pop Archive (BPA) is a national collection based at the John Rylands Library, dedicated to preserving and exploring British popular culture, youth culture, and counter-culture. With strong roots in Manchester’s creative history, the BPA shines a light on the people and movements that have shaped modern British life.
