The Department of Classics & Ancient History runs a regular research seminar, which meets weekly during term time throughout the academic year. Papers are given by local speakers (including advanced PhD students), and by invited speakers from within and beyond the United Kingdom. The seminar regularly attracts an audience of around 40 people, from Manchester and other universities in the area. Visitors are very welcome.
Seminars take place in Samuel Alexander Building, S2.9, Thursday 4.55pm. Everyone is invited to join the speaker for drinks and dinner at a local restaurant after the paper.
If you are coming from outside the university, please check the seminar convenor (stephen.todd@manchester.ac.uk) for any last-minute changes before travelling.
