Giles Foden’s first novel The Last King of Scotland won the 1998 Whitbread First Novel Award. A former MAN Booker judge, Foden is a Professor of Creative Writing at UEA.

Leontia Flynn’s first poetry collection These Days (Cape 2004) won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, and was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize for Poetry. Her second collection of poetry, Drives, was published by Cape in 2008.
