In this Speaker Series, Selin Yildiz Nielsen talks about the issues surrounding the recent Syrian refugee crisis in Turkey with a particular focus on education for Syrian refugees.
Selin received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of California-Riverside and is now teaching at Drake University
in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A.. She has worked in international education for the last 20 years and recently served as a visiting Assistant Professor of Education at Zirve University in Gaziantep, Turkey during which time she also spent considerable time at the Syrian refugee camps in the area.
