Insider dealing: Merging crime script and network analyses
This presentation looks at the organisation of insider dealing, a quintessential type of white-collar crime, by foregrounding how social relations among co-offenders contribute variously to the crime commission process. It presents the novel meta-network images from the mixing of crime script and dynamic network analysis, using a sample of 10 out of the 43 known cases in the UK. It explores a creative application of network analysis in capturing a range of entities from actors, resources, tasks and locations gathered from open data sources, and how it can inform the criminological debates on the balancing between efficiency and security.
