Title: Perturbative algebraic quantum field theory meets the boundary
Abstract:
I will begin with outlining the formalism of perturbative algebraic quantum field theory, which has been successfully applied in quantisation of gauge theories. Then I will explain how it can be generalized to situations where a boundary is present, including the case of an asymptotic "boundary at infinity." The framework that I will present involves a subtle interplay of concepts from homological algebra (in the form of the BV formalism) and functional analysis, as one has to deal with infinite dimensional topological vector spaces.
