Polari's history is as diverse as the people who have used it. For the Polari Mission project artists Jez Dolan and Joseph Richardson have created a series of innovative visual artworks and digital interventions to explore the hidden history of Polari, and the stories of those who have used and continue to use it.
Polari Mission also examines the contemporary understanding of Polari's social, cultural and political importance.
The Polari Mission project has been supported by linguistic expert, Professor Paul Baker (Lancaster University) and computer science specialist, Tim Greening-Jackson.
