Abstract: 'Following the outbreak of Israel - Hamas War, a new refugee crisis in the Middle East erupted, with the displacement of millions of Palestinians in Gaza. The UK Government potential support became an issue of a political debate. Dr Amira Halperin’s talk focuses on her pioneering research of the Palestinian community in the UK, a community in which many of the members define themselves as refugees. Her work is based on first sources of information, as she achieved unprecedented access to the Palestinian community in the United Kingdom. The talk would shed a light on the Palestinians political aspirations and activism in the online sphere, and the refugee status of the Palestinians. Amira would engage the audience with the challenges she encountered being an outsider researcher, interviewing the other side of the vicious ongoing Israeli - Palestinian conflict.’
