Managing and Sharing Research Data from Human Participants is an interactive blended learning course that supports University of Manchester researchers (staff and postgraduates) on how to collect, store, protect and share personal data.

Why should I attend?
Are you working with people in your research? Do you collect personal data through surveys, interviews, trials, or other methods? If so, it’s essential to understand your legal, ethical, and contractual obligations when handling research data.
What should I expect from the course?
An interactive, blended learning session on how to collect, store, protect and share the personal data you may encounter as part of your work.
Specific attention will be paid to the requirements of data protection legislation for:
• recruiting participants and gaining consent;
• managing the data securely;
• anonymising data so that it might be shared for future use.
