Maxine Peake in Conversation
Join Creative Manchester for an in conversation event with Maxine Peake, who has been appointed as Honorary Professor of Literature and Performance at The University of Manchester. The event coincides with International Women’s Day, a worldwide celebration of the role that women play in society.
One of the nation’s favourite actresses, RADA-trained Maxine Peake has enjoyed a prolific career as a theatre, television, radio and film actress. Her career highlights include The Theory of Everything, Shameless, Dinnerladies, Three Girls, and many other award-winning TV dramas and theatre productions.
Maxine will be in conversation with Professor of Poetry John McAuliffe and Professor of Drama Maggie Gale, covering a range of topics including women in the creative industries. There will also be an audience Q&A curated by and featuring students from the Centre for New Writing’s Playwriting and Screenwriting MA courses – a unique opportunity for our students to quiz one of the country’s finest actresses.
The event will run online via Zoom. It is free to attend, but advanced booking is required. Please note that the Zoom details will be sent out to registered attendees on the day of the event.
