Title: The Chabauty-Coleman method in higher dimensions and in families
Abstract: The Chabauty-Coleman method is a method for proving an explicit bound on the number of rational points on a curve. In this talk I will discuss generalisations where a single curve is replaced by a family of subvarieties of a family of abelian varieties. I will explain how a suitable version of the Ax-Schanuel theorem can be used to prove finiteness results. I will then also discuss how one can prove explicit bounds on the number of exceptional points in some cases, generalising a recent theorem of Caro and Pasten for rational points on surfaces inside a rank one abelian variety.
