Join us for a special rare reads session focusing on maps of the world. This session will include a look at our facsimile of the Shinsei Yochi Zenzu of 1844, a Tokugawa era Japanese map used to navigate the politics, warfare, and religious divisions of the era.

Learn about the history of world maps, the rich tradition of Tokugawa era mapmaking, and the creation of facsimile maps at the Rylands during this drop-in session.

Find us in the Reading Room between 2-3pm. No booking required.

Price: Free
