MRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP)/NC3Rs workshop: Introduction to 3Rs & alternatives to animal models
MRC Come and See are delighted to invite UoM DTP students to a virtual workshop by Dr Joanna Stanley on the 3R's and alternatives to animal models!
Although the use of animals in research has been key to some of the biggest scientific and therapeutic advances, ethical questions about their use remain. This workshop will introduce some of these concepts, and demonstrate how applying the 3Rs (replace, reduce and refine) can help address them, improving animal welfare and ensuring the highest quality scientific research.
Dr Joanna Stanley, the NC3Rs Regional Programme Manager for the University of Manchester, will be joined by colleagues and researchers to outline funding opportunities and other resources available to support the development, validation and commercialisation of models and technologies that replace the use of animals in research.
The workshop will take place via Zoom.
Register for the lecture, feel free to share the event with friends, and colleagues who may be interested!
The zoom details will be sent to you before the event when you register with the link.
