Simon Holt (Banshee), John Lely (Desk Bells), Dobrinka Tabakova (Frozen River Flows), Adrian Lee (Peace for Vayu), Simon Holt (Sphinx). Janey Miller - oboe, Joby Burgess - percussion. The British duo New Noise was formed at the turn of the millennium, and combines the ‘beautiful sounds and effortless pyrotechnics’ of oboist Janey Miller, with ‘genre trashing Ensemble Bash virtuoso’, percussionist Joby Burgess. New Noise celebrates the 50th birthday of British composer, Simon Holt with two haunting works Banshee and Sphinx, alongside recent music of a gentle, tonal quality from John Lely and Dobrinka Tabakova; and inspired by the karnatic music of southern India Adrian Lee’s Peace for Vayu.
