This years Annual Teddy Chester Lecture will be delivered by Professor Henrietta Hughes OBE, the inaugural Patient Safety Commissioner for England.
Professor Hughes started in this role in September 2022. The Commissioner role is an independent public appointment to act as a champion for patients, elevating their voices into the heart of government to lead to positive change.
The inaugural term of the first Patient Safety Commissioner in the world has show that change can happen when the entirety of the healthcare system works together to listen to patients and work in partnership to keep them safe.
