The Faculty is thrilled to welcome Dr Nils Hansson, Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf on behalf of members on the ‘Gender Award Gap’ project to present a talk on Invisibility of Women in Medical Prize Cultures.
Dr Nil Hansson will raise questions about how we can study awards as well as possible strategies to bridge the Gender Award Gap. This will include discussion on ‘How is excellence and prestige is enacted’ and ‘How this is defined and ultimately produced through prizes’. The event will have a focus on stimulating conversations on diversity among both nominees and members of prize committee and looking at the influence of biological age versus academic.
