Jeremy Shears is the Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, and will be speaking on the below.
What does it take to turn a research breakthrough into a commercially viable innovation? What are the obstacles that I need to navigate? Why do businesses work with academia and how do they assess innovations? How do I frame my vision so that others will buy into it? These are just a few of the questions I’m often asked by people setting out on their journey to commercialise an opportunity. I will share some insights and learnings gleaned from personal experience that I hope will be of use to others.
