In the first event of the new Racial and Justice Seminar Series, Katrina Ffrench, founder and director of UNJUST, will talk about the organisation's campaign to fight racism and violence in policing, focussing on a landmark case that challenged the Metropolitan Police’s Gangs Violence Matrix.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion. Joining Katrina Ffrench will be Dr. Patrick Williams from MMU and Professor Tony Jefferson from Keele University, and together they will discuss the limits of police reform, abolitionism, and alternatives to policing.
