A teacher professional development workshop
Join us for an exciting workshop with poet and former University of Manchester Chancellor, Lemn Sissay OBE. The workshop will focus on the impact of Creative Writing and Creative Engagement on young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Recent studies suggest that creative activities, including?creative writing, help children develop self-esteem, mindfulness, feelings of achievement, empowerment, and empathy. Creative writing is a fantastic way for children to explore their imaginations and process their feelings.
In this free workshop, you will have the opportunity to hear from acclaimed poet, Lemn Sissay OBE, on his creative practices and working with schools and young people. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your skills in a ‘learning by doing’ session.

To get to the event space you can enter the building via the main double doors, and the room is situated on the first floor (accessible either by lift or stairs).
