Dr Emmanuel Godin (University of Portsmouth). 'New research questions in the study of the French extreme right'. This research seminar will focus briefly on the two main themes which have dominated the extreme right research agenda: the debate about the nature of extreme-right parties in Europe today and the reasons for their electoral success or failure. It will then chart a series of new research questions in the field of extreme right studies, such as the manifestations of extreme-rightism beyond the realm of party politics and the contributions of new disciplines to a field traditionally dominated by historians and political scientists.
