Michael Brennan, Laura Towers, Kate Reed and Kylie Baldwin will discuss Living and Dying, one of the Morgan Centre’s new research themes.

Join us for the first event in the Morgan Centre In Conversation series. Kate Reed (University of Manchester), Kylie Baldwin (Loughborough University), Laura Towers (University of Manchester), and Michael Brennan (University of Greater Manchester) will discuss Living and Dying, one of the Morgan Centre’s new research themes. The conversation will explore how life and death are experienced in the everyday, examining how birth, illness, reproduction, dying and bereavement are woven into daily routines and relationships, and shaped by wider inequalities, social structures and emerging technologies. What does it mean to study the “everydayness” of life and death? What assumptions do we make about a “good” birth, a “good” death or “good” care? And how can researchers approach these intimate and sensitive experiences ethically?
