The session will start with an interactive discussion of what the main types of observational studies are and how they are designed.

We will identify the main sources of bias affecting each type of observational study and how they can be minimised.

Participants will learn how to understand the main statistical results of case-control and cohort studies- including Odds Ratio, Risk Ratio and their confidence intervals.

Participants will use the appropriate CASP tool to critically appraise a study in small groups and feedback their assessment.

Price: £50
