This workshop is an opportunity for staff to actively explore the nature of the new AI technologies which are rapidly transforming education. Staff will be able to experiment with the latest developments in this fast-moving field, focusing particularly on new approaches to assess student knowledge which combine active learning with authentic approaches to assessment. AI presents new possibilities for ensuring that learners are actively involved in their learning processes. This workshop will demonstrate how simple uses of generative AI can stimulate inquiry, enliven group work, and provide new ways to create more personalised and meaningful education. We will explore the organisational implications of AI-driven active and personalised learning by examining how AI can also better manage the complexity of individual inquiry-based learning and personal learning contracts.
