Title: The Subnormalizer conjecture* and p-solvable groups
Abstract: Subnormalizers are group theoretic objects that have been around for decades, within the confines of pure group theory. Recently, a family of conjectures has been proposed which suggests they should have major relevance to representation theory as well. In this talk, we will state the Picky and Subnormalizer conjectures, some known cases, and the difficulty (and appeal!) of working with subnormalizers. We will focus especially on p-solvable groups, where we show the Subnormalizer conjecture holds under some special conditions.
