Overview
Attendees will:
Gain an overview of policymaking and who is involved in making policy, primarily focussed on the UK but with international examples
Learn about the different routes available to academic researchers to inform, influence, and engage with policymakers
Find out more about how the Policy@Manchester team can support researchers based at The University of Manchester
Attendees will leave with enhanced knowledge of:
- How policy is made
- What policymakers want from researchers
- How researchers can engage with policymakers on their work, including responding to calls for evidence; writing policy briefs and articles about your research; and meeting with policymakers
- How Policy@Manchester can support researchers based at The University of Manchester
There will be some group working to produce short research summaries focussed on a policy audience. Pens and paper will be provided, but participants are welcome to use electronic devices if this is easier.
