Overview
Mastering Team Research will drive one of the 5 leaps of our Manchester2035 vision: “To be recognized for outstanding discovery and challenge-led research—tackling society’s toughest problems and delivering impact faster, at greater scale.” This interactive workshop will give you the tools and confidence to apply the principles of Team Research, enabling you to foster collaboration, strengthen team-based approaches, and lead impactful interdisciplinary projects. By joining, you’ll not only enhance your research outcomes but also help shape solutions that make a real difference.
What Will Be Covered
- Introduction to the Team Research Model for interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
- Key principles and features of successful teams in collaborative research.
- Understanding and fostering ‘followership’ skills for effective teamwork.
- Exploring the value of diversity and the power of team building.
- Practical tools and ways of working to support teamwork.
- Hands-on experience with team-building activities to strengthen collaboration.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Recognize and understand a range of collaborative tools, approaches, and effective ways of working.
- Demonstrate how to apply these tools and approaches in practical contexts to strengthen research practices and foster a positive research culture.
