Come together and celebrate Diwali with fantastic performances, activities for all ages and a spectacular Bollywood party!
Diwali is the five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning "rows of lighted lamps."
It is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.
This FREE event will be a day of theatre performances, craft activities and cultural talks for people of all ages and cultures to learn about and get involved with the celebratory spirit of the festival.
With delicious food, dance performances, dhol playing and an evening Bollywood party like no other, this will be an event not to be missed!
Manchester Museum is hosting its first annual Diwali celebration in collaboration with Manchester India Partnership.
